Sony confirms 250GB PS3 bundles for UK

Following heaps of speculation over the past few weeks, Sony UK has officially unveiled plans to release a series of 250GB PlayStation 3 bundles in the region.
Kicking off on October 1, punters will be able to fork out £284.99 GBP for a bundle containing a choice of two Platinum Hits or a copy of the PS3 exclusive superhero outing, inFamous. Things get a little more exciting from October 16, though, when the bundle initiative is expanded to include Naughty Dog’s hotly anticipated sequel, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.
Rounding things off on October 19 is a special movie pack that incorporates X-Men Origins: Wolverine, The Dark Knight and a Blu-ray remote.
Sony commented: Following the great success of the new, smaller, 120GB PS3, which sold over one million units in its first three weeks on sale, the 250GB model has the same hardware specifications as the current model, but with greater storage space, to offer consumers even more choice."

hmm assuming the upgrade proccess is the same for phat and slim:
you could just spend £274.99 on a 120gb slim ps3 and a 400gb hdd to go in it... keeping the 120gb as a either a back up or extra storage :)
guess it works for people less confident with this kinda stuff though :D
ninja edit: 274.99 is with no games though ... +150gb (and 120 from original hdd) sounds like a good deal with uncharted 2! :D

I want one but im waiting for the 45nm chips....and maybe a white one if its available.

@5 - its still a better deal.
The 120GB costs £250, this costs £285 (extra £35) you're getting an extra 130GB and InFamous)
250GB HDDs cost about £35 alone, and then theres Infamous.
Its overall a very good deal and if I was to get one, this is a much better deal for your money

@ 7... um.. maybe you should get a time machine, go back in time, and start your waiting for 45nm chips... cause slim PS3 have and all future PS3s will have 45nm chips.

Now i know the system i'll get,hopefully it expands to have even more title choices,so that i can get more bang fo my buck after my exams in march '09.

Good prices! I won't be able to afford the bundle before christmas, but I'll definitely think about purchasing the movie bundle after christmas. (I already have an 80GB so I'll just buy Uncharted 2 on it's own! Will be a great game, the multiplayer is very fun)

Dang thats like $460 to rich for my blood but i thnk a uncharted budle would be the perfect time for me to score a ps3
