Sony has denied that the company will be releasing its forthcoming online service, Home, on October 11th following a slew of Internet speculation.
Rumors of the release date scorched across the Internet late yesterday afternoon, as part of a release list containing PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable, and PlayStation 2 software.
Following distribution of the news across several well-known websites, a Sony Computer Entertainment UK representative told Gamesindustry.biz: "that's not an official release schedule. None of the dates on the list have been confirmed at this time."
The spokesperson went on to address the source of the news, adding, "I don't know where Kotaku have taken them from or why they're claiming 'SCEE have clarified dates' as we haven't sent them anything, and neither have our Central office."
These comments do not dismiss the notion 100%, but rather suggest damage control. On the other hand with the delay of multiple titles this week, the game industry cannot be sure of anything at this point.
All is not lost though, as the spokesperson concluded, "we will be making more announcements about Home at this year's Tokyo Game Show."
TGS takes place towards the end of September, so keep a close watch on PSU for news from the expo.

isn't home suppose to come out in octuber, they need to release it or we going to have a problem
it's just Home... nothing seriously...
yep who cares
I thought it was coming out this fall before XMAS!!??? Wouldnt be suprised though if it were delayed, typical. I should have waited to buy the PS3 like I did the 360, until a good game I like comes out. :(

Exactly, For all we know it WILL come out Oct. 11. There have been times in the past when companies said things to start red herrings and throw people off thier trail, and then they come out the day they said it wasnt, this statement is very vague too.
ohh that to bad
What?!?I thought Home was confirmed for an October release.
psn id: gingo... sony have confirmed Home will be released in october so at least we know what month its coming out on
honestly, i know a beta tester... nothing shown at E3 is in the beta of home yet..... infact music/movies don't even work in home yet... when "we" finally get it, it will probably just be considered an "open beta".... that was the plan all along anyway....
nooooooooo!!!!!!!!!
I really think the beta has reverted to an in house project. after so many leaks they decided to punish the beta testers by not releasing anything new to us. But I dont know why they'd deny the release date unless they're definatly pushing it back from the october release they've been claiming since day one.
