Gaming does have some value in society, despite what the Jack Thompsons of the world might have you believe. For example, SCEA has just donated a generous bundle of gaming goodness to the Children's Hospital of New Orleans.
The eight systems, including PS2s, PS3s and PSPs, are available for patients to use in the "teen room," giving the children an opportunity to escape the dreariness of the hospital setting. Sony also provided the two HDTVs seen above as well as rolling storage systems so the systems can be enjoyed by all, anywhere in the hospital.
Generosity such as this simply puts a smile on our faces. If gaming can better the lives of the suffering, then let it.

awesome, it gives the kids some fun, and cures their cancer! sweeeetttt
it's funny how a japanese base enterprise is doing more for sick children in the US than an american company, big up to sony!
Except Bill gives ridiculous amounts to charities.
Sony is teh winz for children. I am proud to own a PS3 even further, Ill be running folding for 48 hours straight, starting now.
That's really nice of them, hopefully this might bring a smile on those ill kids.
psn id: gingo... that is really nice of sony doing this i know if i was in hospital i would love to do down and play a ps3
Well that's a good thing
Alti ur a idiot "and cures their cancer" wtf!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thats totally f'n awesome of Sony to do. Gawd knows the hospitals couldn't afford them in the first place.
Now kids are never going to want to leave the hospital. They'll be breaking each other's legs to be first.

Funny thought. I wonder if they plan to run F@H when the PS3s aren't being used.
