As reported earlier this week, Sony Computer Entertainment America confirmed internal depletion of the 60GB PlayStation 3 console; with spokesperson David Karraker stating that the company had shipped all remaining units to retail.
However, due to increased online demand, the company has since confirmed it has replenished stock of the 60GB SKU at its online retail outlet Sonystyle.com, where ample supply remains available for purchase.
Karraker also mentioned that the 80GB PS3 bundle, which currently retails for USD 599, might be reduced down to USD 499 once supply of the 60GB version has been completely drained.

FreakyZekey, you know, its your fault you didn't wait. just be glad that you have one. other people out there want one but can't afford it. so they are very grateful for all the price drops. and by doing this it is helping sony out. so just deal with the fact you spent an extra 100. think of it as a "generous donation" of $100 to sony.

I didn't mind paying paying $100 extra 4 months before the price cut. Worth it as far as I'm concerned. I'll continue to toss extra money Sony's way as long as they continue to show up MS on how to make a console.
