Sony has confirmed it is “working diligently” to get retro beat ‘em up Mortal Kombat II back online following its mysterious disappearance from the PlayStation Store earlier this week.
Speaking to 1up.com in reference to Firmware 2.50 for PlayStation 3, a company representative stated, "A Mortal Kombat II specification is being upgraded in connection with the release of the latest firmware update.”
"This is one of our top titles on PlayStation Network, we are working diligently to get this back up on the PlayStation Store."
As soon as the game pops its head back on the PS Store, we’ll be sure to let you know.

Smells like a "We're going to delete older games to make room for newer ones and hope nobody notices...oops, we got caught. Gotta put it back, now."

I grabbed MKII as soon as it popped up, I only play it rarely but nostalgia is a powerful thing. I'm not surprised it's popular especially with online fighting. I wonder how Castlevania SOTN is doing?
