Sony working on video store for Canadians

With recent news of European PlayStation 3 owners getting a video store, PSU decided to ask Sony if Canadian gamers can expect their own video service any time soon.
A representative from Sony told us, “The Canadian PSN is the same as the U.S. with only one difference – the video store. This is something we are working very hard to correct. All other aspects of the store are the same, including prices.”
It appears Canadian PS3 owners hoping for a video store will have to wait a little while longer. But, hopefully it’s reassuring to know Sony is working to correct the lack of video store in Canada.

If it wasnt for the CRTC we would've had the video store at the same time as the US.

@2 correct me if i'm wrong but the first sentance states." With recent news of European PlayStation 3 owners getting a video store " either y'all people don't read the artical or you just post to see your post. from the line alone i got its a video store coming to europe, what make it worse they gave you a link to go to.

This almost makes it sound like its coming soon. But Sony takes a very long time to do anything. I would expect it in Europe first before here. Which is odd when you think of it. Europe has a lot more languages and laws when regarding content. Ours (Canada) is mostly due to the outdated CRTC.

I will actually be using this store a lot. I use itunes for movies and tv shows right now, but I cant really move it to my tv without apple tv... so thats kind of stupid. cant wait for this

I wish them luck. The CRTC controlls every aspect of our media in Canada (imagine old communist Russia in the hands of a few power crazy people....kinda like that). They need to be disbanded. They tell the pubilc that all their decisions benefit Canadians, yet they make backroom deals with large corporations so that they can have monopolies and the only choice we're allowed to have is the one the CRTC offers us (in some cases you can even go to jail for just watching a foreign broadcast that the CRTC hasn't regulated). Only two countires in the world jail you for watching foriegn TV....North Korea and Canada.
