Square Enix: 09 will feature more FFXIII gameplay

Speaking in an interview with Famitsu magazine, Final Fantasy XIII producer Yoshinori Kitase has divulged new details on the upcoming playable demo of FFXIII along with Square Enix’s plans for the year ahead.
According to Kitase, Square Enix is hopeful that the PlayStation 3 will gather more ground in hardware sales and attach rate, with the announcement of the Final Fantasy XIII demo a key factor in driving sales of the platform.
In addition, the demo will help entice players to the PS3, allowing them to explore "the basics" and check out the new battle system.
Japanese gamers will be able to pick up their copy of the FFXIII demo alongside the Blu-ray release of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete in April.

If you dont have a ps3 you might (but a small might) be influenced to get the system because of a demo. The thing is that it is just a demo, in my opinion almost every fan that likes FF already have a ps3 system and because it is now multiplatform i dont really think it will convince an xbxo360 user to get a ps3 just for a demo. I am not even going to throw $65 just for a demo and the movie well is not the worth buying it. They are just trying to make more money and at the end they are going to get hit hard by the recession because of the decissions they are making.

Not hard to give more gameplay when in 2008 the only gameplay footage was 15 seconds long.

well, screw that crap. 2009 will feature more gameplay video's, woopidy doo. SE should know that waiting this long for the game to come out will do more bad then good. It happens every single time. I am not personally going to support them though. I have yet to see a FF game that rivals FF7 or any FF before that. They still haven't done it and I don't expect them to come close.

FF8 and 9 were just as good as 7. Even FF6 is considered by some the better game. Storytelling and art direction are what's hurting the more recent FF games. 10 had lousy characters and IMO a lousy story (and the script was unbearable). FF12 had better characters, but the story was uninteresting. We don't know much yet about FF13 with its characters or the story. However the art direction has me worried - vs13 seems to be the much better envisioned game.

Hey Kitase, You wanna see the PS3 sell more hardware? Then give M$ their money back and realese the US PS3 version as soon as you have it done and not when you finish the crashbox3fixme port finished. The majority of FF fans already own a PS3 and have been waiting in anticipation since '06. This demo is not going to sway them.

They only have loyalty to their pocketbooks. PS1 and PS2 did great, so they stayed "loyal". PS3 is the suck for sales this generation, so they moved on. They need to make money more than they need to stay loyal. Plain and simple.

i dont care what they saying ... they r real S.O.Bs till they give us the same thing as the japanese ,,, i mean why ...they'r not gonna release FFXIII outside japan this year ,, and now even the demo is only for JAPAN ... what is this ... r they gonna back stap us like this every time .... and they want us to buy thier games !!!!
