Square Enix has at last nailed down a solid release date for Dissidia Final Fantasy in UK territories, confirming that the PSP brawler will be hitting store shelves on September 4, 2009.

In addition to the standard release, punters will also be able to fork out for a special Collector’s Edition of the game, which includes a CD soundtrack, 48-page artwork book, a mini-guide and two lithograph prints.

John Yamamoto, president and CEO of Square Enix, commented: “With so many favourite heroes and villains contained in one game, Dissidia Final Fantasy is certainly going to appeal to fans of the series.”

“The action-packed experience is a real showcase for the PSP and is set to become an instant classic on the system.”

Hand picking a multitude of characters from Final Fantasy’s illustrious 20-year history, Dissidia has gamers brawling it out in fully 3D environments where you can employ a variety of tactics to overcome your opponent, such as dashing up walls and unleashing powerful summons.

Damn, 2 days after I go to school again, was hoping to play it over the holiday.

Nevermind, at least I know how long it's gonna be now, I'll probably get the Collector's Edition if it's not too expensive.

Yeh PSP games are region free but why Import? The game releases in Europe only 1 week after the US release. Plus the Special Edition set sounds amazing and like Crisis Core I bet you can find it for the same price as the normal edition on some sites or just £5 more.

Good to know that S-E weren' lying when they said they are working to reduce localization times across all areas, hope other Japanese companies follow.
