Square Enix has confirmed that the hotly anticipated Star Ocean: Second Evolution will be released in Europe on February 13, 2009 exclusively for PlayStation Portable.
Second Evolution is a PSP reworking of Star Ocean: The Second Story, which previously saw release on the original PlayStation in Japan ten years ago. The game features a completely overhauled game engine, tweaked battle system and all-new cut scenes presented in glorious 16:3 widescreen.
Said Square Enix CEO and president, John Yamamoto: “2009 is set to be a landmark year for the STAR OCEAN series, I’m delighted that new fans can continue to experience this classic series with the release of Star Ocean: Second Evolution for PSP and I hope players are excitedly looking forward to the forthcoming release of Star: The Last Hope.”
Second Evolution hits North American territories on January 20.

I just recieved my replacement PSP from Sony today as I broke it, and I ordred Star Ocean: First Departure a few days ago. I've never played any of the Star Ocean games, so if I like the first one then I will pick this one up (after I complete the first). As for The Last Hope...well, will have to give that one a miss!
