Switch on your PS3 remotely!

During a demonstration at the Tokyo Game Show 2007, Kaz Hirai revealed that the PS3 and PSP's Remote Play functionality has been updated so that you'll be able to switch on, and switch off, your PS3 from anywhere in the world.

This will allow you to access you pictures, music and videos without having to leave your PlayStation 3 on.

The feature will be extended further to allow up to 3 PSP owners to play football/soccer on a host PS3. Also, another two PS3s could be used to spectate the match.

    And everyone thought I was crazy when I made a thread about it on PS3forums.com about 6 months ago saying that it could be done.

    thats awsome now I will be able to get the music from my ps3 to psp without leaving it on.

    I can see all kinds of technical limitations for this one.  I really wonder if this will work for those that have their PS3 connected wirelessly, for example.

    Very interesting.  I'll be trying this out soon.  I'll try playing Lair from a hotel 2 or 3 states away!

    LOL. I CAN NOW WATCH PORN IN FRANCE. WHOO. Its streamed from my very on ps3 lmao. I have a feeling this will casuse trouble but its sweet. Damn.. I swore I would never buy a psp... -_-

    I tried it today, doesn't work yet, but remote play is working much better than the last time I used it.

    everyone sounds like this is new news. They were talking about this before the PS3 came out. I'm glad it's finally here.
