TGS 09: The PSN hosts 29 million accounts; LBP has some 2 million user-created levels

The PlayStation Network is a beast when it comes to online communities. Sony boss Kaz Hirai said today that there are some 29 million PSN accounts with some 600 million pieces of content downloaded.

Again showing off the effectiveness of the network, Hirai said that Media Molecule’s hit LittleBigPlanet now has some 2 million user-generated stages. In case you are wondering, you’d have to spend about six hours a day for nearly 30 years to play every level.

     Just the way of the business ttech10. Could you imagine what the 360 sales numbers would be if you could subtract repeat sales due to RROD? Not being a fanboy but that is a legitimate question.

     some people create more than one account for different benefits on different regions. For example, the dynamic themes on the Japanese store.

     Hmm...the numbers for the LBP levels just don't add up, it was only less than 3 months ago that they announced there were 1 million levels, and now all of a sudden there are 2 million? I don't think so...

    @ Rapture, many people have multiple accounts....

    .... yeah... I've got 2 because I download stuff from both the NA and EU versions of the store... my bro and sis also have one (on my machine) just for playing multiplayer with me. There's 4 and I really only use just one. lol.

    It's like SOE bragging they finally broke 400k people online simultaneously back in the days of Everquest when most of the "people" were bazaar bots.

    I don't think these numbers fool anyone.

    Network numbers are just boasting figures,with no actual reason,same with Live,a lot of ppl create multiple accounts,just to get that oh so precious free month of gaming...
