Celebrated American rockers Talking Heads will be headlining next week’s Rock Band update for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 owners, reports Joystiq.
The group, which enjoyed critical and commercial success through the years 1974-1991, will hit the music simulation title via a special Track Pack consisting of five songs. PS3 owners will be able to get their mitts on the tracks from September 3, and can either fork out for the whole pack for $8.99 USD or pay $2 USD for individual tunes.
The tracks are as follows:
"And She Was" ($2)
"Crosseyed & Painless" ($2)
"Girlfriend is Better" ($2)
"Once in a Lifetime" ($2)
"Take Me to the River" ($2)
In addition, the following artists will also be making an appearance:
Avenged Sevenfold -- "Bat Country"
The Jam -- "A Town Called Malice"
The Jam -- "Going Underground"
Oasis -- "Supersonic" (Live)
Rage Against the Machine -- "Guerrilla Radio"
Finally, PSP owners can sink their teeth into the following for a measly $1.99 USD each.
Franz Ferdinand -- "Lucid Dreams"
Guns N' Roses -- "Riad N' the Bedouins"

Rock band is such a waste of money! Come on. You guys can't see whats going on here? Its just a way for them to make money. All those new song coming out you have to pay for? Over and over. I guess I can understand if you really like it and thats ok, but all these games come out now and 5 days later theres a $9.99 "add on" half these games already have the "add on" on the disc and your are just paying to unlock it. Now thats not all games. As if 60 bucks isnt enough.

@7, totally agree with you there....i said almost the same thing on the euro psn update topic thursday, but people still come up with the same excuse they're brainwashed with....the "oh but its worth the money" one. i don't really care how people spend their money tbh but i just wish people could see further than the end of their noses and see that this is becoming a worrying trend and the more you keep throwing money at them then the more they'll do it.

I don't get the DLC price discussion for Rock Band... you're basically purchasing song, with the possibilty to play it on four different ways. And for what? 1-2$ per song! That's less than iTunes where I'm from anyway. And no, these songs are not already on the disc, lol
Only Capcom would do such a thing

@14, i didn't mean just RB.... i ment dlc for more or less every game just lately is becoming ridiculous, in amount and price. have a look on the ps store and tell me its not becoming a money milking machine? take into account that games aren't exactly cheap in the shops to start with.....i don't know about everybody else but i don't wanna be payin £2.99 for a 5 mission pack in the next GTA.....because it looks as if its goin that way in my opinion.
