Disney Interactive has today confirmed that the latest instalment in the Turok series will be released on February 8th, 2008.

The next—generation Dinosaur blaster was originally scheduld to ship this fall, though developer Propaganda Game has since instead decided to postpone its release to perform a few last minute touches.

Building on the prodigious success of the original Nintendo 64 series, the game transports players 200 years into the future as Joseph Turok as he seeks to confront ex mentor Roland Kane, who has now become a fully fledged war criminal. However, while in pursuit of Kane’s hiding place, Turok’s ship is forced to make an emergency landing on a mysterious island infested with Dinosaurs and hostile mercenaries.

Using the traditional first-person view point the series has become renowned for, the game utilizes the Unreal Engine 3 and is set to include full online play for up to 16 players and features a host of destructive, high-tech weaponry and equipment to aid you in your quest.

Turok is currently slated to appear on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 – stay tuned for full coverage here at PSU in the near future.

Once they make it back to the enjoyable title it was once know to be...they can take all the time they want. Besides there is starting to be more FPS on the PS3 than you can shake a controller at coming out.

Originated on the N64, Nintendo will now be missing out on such titles by putting out the Wii and going way too far against the grain this time.

psn id: gingo.... the first Turok was very enjoyable but then further installments seemed to lack what made the first one so good so i hope they return to their roots and make this the best Turok game ever
