Ubisoft reaffirms Haze exclusivity, talks recent delay

Haze is a few short delays away from Duke Nukem Forever status. While that's a rather large exaggeration, Haze, developed by Free Radical of Timesplitters fame, has been delayed more times than we care to remember.
Haze's project lead commented on the most recent delay to the 2008 fiscal year:
"It's not something we do lightly. Everyone at FRD and Ubisoft is more than aware of the fans on here and how patiently people have waited for the game and we would like nothing more to put out the finished game right now.
"But that's the thing of it - the game isn't finished. There's still some things we'd like to polish and refine, and while it may seem like we're ignoring you guys by delaying it, it's precisely *because* of you guys that the delay has happened - because we want to make sure the game is as good as it can be when you finally get your hands on it."
If there's something to take comfort in though, it's that according to VideoGamer.com, Haze remains an exclusive to the PS3.
"A Ubisoft rep has denied the game will be heading to any other platform, reaffirming that Haze remains a PlayStation 3 exclusive - when it will actually hit stores is still to be announced."

they can take as long as they like on it! would much rather its the best game it could possibly be, instead of a half finished peace of poo like area 51, soldiar of fortune, or kane and lynch to name a few! anyway ive got cod4 online to distract me from the wait! dont let us down free rad! show them what brit dev's can do!

We'll probably see this game in May. The March release date never made sense because it would have been competing with R6V2. Another Ubisoft game.

It's too late, man. I was going to drop cash to buy Haze and Uncharted: Drake's Fortune on the same day. After the first delay I was actually relieved because I would've had too many games to play at once with COD4 in the mix. But now, by the time Haze actually hits the market I will have no interest in it. They really screwed themselves on this one.

Fed up really i was so looking forward to this because only fps i play i don't like third person shooters or anything else i have played and played cod4 until i'm actually seeing the characters in my sleep, so a welcome addition of a fps would have been greatly excepted, but it's not to be, and turok “well they can keep that”.

It was already looking good enough. More polish can only be a good thing!
As long as the online has decent voice comms and a squad system like Resistance, and not crappy PTT like Warhawk or fully open-mic like CoD4, it'll be great.

My personal opinion is that Dev's need to really put some thought behind their release dates that way people don't get pissy with delays. I don't its hard to predict but If I know my lawn takes 2 hours to cut I'm not going to say I can do it in 1 or even less.

I don't mind games getting pushed back a month or two, but when you get half a year delayes like Haze and GTA IV, somebody in PR needs to be fired.

well they can take all the time they want and i would like to say something to the impaitient and whiny people out there it wouldnt matter waht they did if they released it today you guys would whine about it having bugs but if they keep working on it to make it better you whine because it takes to long they're damned if they do and damned if they dont
but i have a solution shut up stop your whining and give them a break because you know it will be worth it when its finished

I really hope the game to be REALLY AWESOME, if not it will sell like crap considering that Resistance 2 and Killzone 2 will arrive by the time Haze does, and both will be AAAAA+++ games.
