Ubisoft user-generated content game announced

Ubisoft seems to have taken a page out of PlayStation Home and LittleBigPlanet's book, recognizing that user-created content is the future.
Yves Guillemot, Ubisoft CEO, delivered his keynote speech at the Edinburgh Interactive Festival today, prodding the industry to recognize the importance of giving users the option of creating their own unique experiences.
Quite unsurprisingly, with all this touting of user-generated content comes the announcement of a secret title in development by Ubisoft that will make sure the "consumers are the stars."
"The goal is really to make sure our consumers become creators," said Guillemot.
"If the creator only has an Xbox 360 then we will help him port [content] to another console. Although some users will be happy to see their creation just on one console. The goal is to make sure that users can show their friends that they are capable of creating content and prove it to themselves."
Ubisoft hopes not to alienate any consumers with a system containing a steep learning curve.
"We must make sure we create tools as easy to use as possible. And then we'll be able to monetize the work that is done."
Guillemot even detailed a sophisticated mentoring system which should provide benefits for both new consumers and die-hard veterans.
"We are going to put a mentoring program within our games whereby new consumers can get help and the player helping will be rewarded with points or free games," he finished.

This is terrible, why cant a company be innovative? Do something new! Or F that, stick with action games, or something like that, but stop trying to make ideas your own.

You know something? This really isnt a bad thing guys. It's clear that they were inspired by things like LBP but isnt that the whole point? LBP is meant to inspire and generate new ideas as well as make gaming in general grow. So when another company decides that the model is something they can grab onto, we should be happy to see it happen! It means maybe a few less FPS games maybe a new style or genre can emerge because someone took these tools we're getting and came up with something no one thought of in an innovative way. I understand you guys hate Ubisoft but that dosent mean the direction they going has to be hated as long as it's not a direct ripoff of LBP.

@Alpha........ Yes it will be a bad thing whenever Ubisoft and all the other companies start capitalizing off of the idea by screwing the consumer over. They're Ubisoft so they will figure out a way to make this idea totally suck.

It was only a matter of time that either MS or a developer who favors MS "copied" what will obviously be one of the strongest selling games on the PS3. I'd expect even more title, including a first party MS game that copies LBP before Christmas. What kills me is how he's talking like it was his idea, and trying to sound like he's forecasting the future of gaming.

isn't it the same one who told the only good console ($$$) was the wii ?
overclocked gamecube = cheap 6 month developed games, (when you don't simply resell the gamecube games itself RE4, Zelda, etc.) (ho yes, I forgot, with wiimote addition :-).
So the best console is the wii, but they develop hardcore game primary on xbroken360 with bad PS3 conversion, but the revolution come in user-generated crap ( I'm sarcastic, but hey, I'm not that much impressed by the whole "user generated stuff" on internet or other, actually ) on the PS3 ..
chuut up and just make yourself pleasure dreaming of all the $$$ you'll make...

I say we toss Ubisoft in a building with EA, lock the doors, and set it on fire.
