     Man Uncharted 2 is looking to be pretty awesome. God of War 3 should have won action/adventure even though Uncharted is amazing.

    @8

    MAG received an Award for Best Technical Achievement, although those displayed here are awards for the whole show, I don't think Technical Achievement was a category here, which is why one would assume MAG received no awards. Rest assured, it did.

    First of all the awards from E3 I'm pretty sure are only for games that are playable at E3 or on display at E3. Now I'm not 100% certain but wasn't God of War III only shown in video form and only at Sony's pre-E3 event?The important word there being "pre" i.e. not actually prt of E3 proper.

    I can honestly say I wasn't expecting to be impressed by Drake but that helicopter demo was something else.

    @ 19

    actually god of war 3 was the best demo shown at  e3 at it was playable on the floor and it had 20 minutes of gameplay so ....

    So now 23 Million Units sold is bad.  Since When!!!!!

    When PS3 was released it was 8 Million consoles behind the it's competition.  Guess what.  It's still 8 Million Consoles behind the competition. If that gap was widening I would agree with you.  But it has not.  They have kept pace with the competition.

    And just like you stated, these new games have more content than before.  I think the reason why the attach rate of the PS3 is lower than most would "want" is because the games last longer.  I am now spending days (all hours added together) playing one game versus hours playing 4 or 5 games (compared to my PS2 Days).

    The PS3 price drop will occur this fall.  During the console's third (3rd) year.  Hey, isn't that when Xbox's price cut was.  In the console's third year of it's life cycle, right.  Makes sense if you really think about it.

    You have two products with two different lifecycles.  Please please please keep this in mind.

    When it comes to developing for it, this is where I give it M$.  Since the Xbox functions just like a PC, the developers have a low (really low) learning curve.  The PS3 has a huge learning curve.  But look at what is possible if the time is spent learning it.  You have great multiplatform games (COD4 & 6:MW2, EA Sports Games, Devil May Cry, Assassin's Creed, Burnout Paradise, etc).  Then you have awesome exclusives (MGS4, Uncharted, Ratchet & Clank, Resistance, Killzone2, etc). I know that there several flops out there (Ghostbusters, Half Life 2, etc.)

    These games are evident that it is very possible to put out a very solid game on the PS3 that also looks and plays great.

    If the developer does not invest the time into the console how can it expect to the get the returns into the console.  If you only go in with 50% you will get back 50% if you are lucky. See Developers like EA, Insomniac, Guerilla Games, Konami, Naughty Dog, and Media Molecule.

    I dont think natal getting best peripheral was right, no-one knows if it works!

    • 5:25pm BST - June 23rd, 2009

    @ 23 i agree with you. dont really understand how they got an award for natal when all they had is a video of whats "possible" and a not too impressive demo. if you watched the e3 demo of natal with that girl on stage there are plenty of times where natal was lagging behind her movements, i thought ps3 motion controllers were alot more precise and the bow and arrow demo was amazing.

    @21

    Fair enough I wasn't sure if it was on the E3 floor or not. In that case well done Uncharted because there was even stiffer competition. GoWIII looked awesome, but having been playing the Unchrted Beta for weeks now I can say it is absolutely wicked.

    Natal? Sure I love my Xbox, but in my opinion the E3 presentation of the Natal was not that good. I mean I don´t know about the "wands" for the PS3 but atleast the technical presentation was much better. Uncharted 2 deserves this in my opinion.Impressive graphics and all of you who played the first one knows how good the gameplay is. Go uncharted!

     IMO, although GOW3 looks absolutly stunning and certainly deserves the award, it looks as though Uncharted just pushed limits graphically more so than any other game that was shown. GOW3 a close second if not a tie

    ok, Uncharted 2 looks great, MW2 looks great, MAss Effect 2 looks absolutely amazing, but, seriously?

    DJ Hero? are you kidding me?

    Natal? it's interesting, but totally invasive and impractical

    L4D2? the first game was supremely mediocre and L4D2 STILL has TERRIBLE graphics, but now it has lame characters, awkward ammo elements and it's supposed to be scary IN BROAD DAYLIGHT!!!  how does this look at all like the best online game when compared to MW2 or MAG, actually, or even ODST for that matter?

    also, I personally think RCF:ACiT or GoW should have won action/adventure
