Uncharted vs. Uncharted 2 visual comparison

When Uncharted: Drake's Fortune released on the PS3 in late 2007, it was regarded as one of the most visually stunning titles to date, surpassing anything previously shown on consoles. With Uncharted 2: Among Thieves on the way, it's almost surprising to see that Naughty Dog is able to improve upon the graphics and turn out something even more spectacular than its predecessor.
Naughty Dog has not only enhanced elements like textures, draw distances, shadows, and lighting, but believe it or not, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves seems to add more color to the palette, contradicting the belief that the PS3 is a "grey" gaming console.
Outside of comparing the titles graphically, be sure to see how Nathan Drake's facial hair and outfit have changed.
Naughty Dog has barely pulled the veil on Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and our mouths are already dry. Over the course of the next few months, expect to see more beautiful images and perhaps even a gameplay trailer. Uncharted 2 looks stunning, but you have to remember it's still mainly an early build.

looks amazing, the amount of detail is vastly improved IMO, plus you're not seeing the improved physics, AI, lighting, water, fire, and various weather effects, or animation AND it's an early build, i'm very very impressed.

I'm gonna miss all the jungle and foliage, but even without that...this game looks beautiful :) The third and last comparison really make the new one shine.

Anyone ever saying the PS3 is a "Gray game console" would be retarded seeing as it's obviously BLACK. As for the games this is also clearly not the case since even though U2 looks better U1 is still pretty badass.
My only complain though is that these comparison shots could have been SO MUCH better. serveral of these shots are not even remotely similar actions even though there are shots in the gallery that fit together better.

Uncharted 2 atm has better shadows and lighting. and considering we're comparing a finished game to a vastly unfinished game you can say Uncharted 2 is only gonna get better

Lets hope they'll fix the platforming element of the game. It was just too easy in the 1st one, you could jump anywhere and land on the beam you were supposed to.

It's nowhere near it's release and seeing this progression is already mind boggling.Uncharted is definitely becoming a PS icon!

Personally the graphics on both are awesome, they've put more detail in U2:AT and better lighting but in it. There were time when I thought the first game was spectacular but lacked in a few areas such as the blood/splash effects and the tree leaves were pretty flat but I knew there was going to be major potential for the sequel. GO DRAKE!!!!

no doubt that this game gonna b far better then the first one..it happened with resistance..and the same will happen with uncharted 2....this guys got alot of talent..one of the best developers out there..if not the best..keep up with the good work..

the point is, Uncharted 1 STILL looks and plays incredibly good, Uncharted 2, is just mouth watering. The wait for the announcement, was WELL worth it. I nearly wet my pants at the unveiling trailer
