Unreal Tournament III PS3 patch now available

CVG has got word that the mammoth DLC pack for the PlayStation 3 version of Unreal Tournament III is now available for download.
Originally scheduled for release on March 5, the patch was pushed back a fortnight due to the certification process – however, things have apparently gone smoother than expected, with the patch now live.
Weighing in at a hefty 93MB, the update contains the following:
·6 environments - four Warfare, three vCTF, six Deathmatch, and three CTF maps - that are new to the PC and PS3 versions
·Three bonus pack maps, CTF-Face, CTF-Searchlight and DM-Morbias
·The namesake Titan mutator, which lets players overwhelm opponents as a 15 foot tall titan, or crush them as a 30 foot tall Behemoth
·Greed and Betrayal, two gametypes that breed new-found fervor throughout the competitive UT3 arena ·Two powerful weapons, the Stinger Turret and Eradicator Cannon artillery
·Two valuable deployables, the X-Ray Field and Link Station
·The Slow Field power-up, a portable version of the Slow Field deployable
·Stealthbender, a new vehicle that carries two spidermine trap deployables, one EMP mine, and one each of the new Link Station and X-Ray Field deployables
·Two new characters, Nova and Kana
·57 awards attainable as Steam Achievements and PS3 Trophies
·Broad improvements for PC and PS3: Significant AI enhancements, especially in vehicle gametypes; networking performance upgrades; greatly improved menu flow and UI usability; better mod support
·Client-side demo recording, highly improved Server Browser, a new maplist system, plus mid-game mutator and gametype voting functionality for PC
·High demand PS3 features including PS3 Trophy support, two-player split-screen support, and mod browsing

@1.......Dude, the game's like $20 now. You should definitely pick this game up. Not to mention there's still all of the mods/maps/mutators that are available for free from the ut3 ps3 forums. I mean, how can you go wrong. This game is so underrated. This has to be still like one of my all time favorite fps's. i don't know of any other FPS game available for the PS3 that has this much variety and customized stuff. You can even get a mod to allow you to change the view to 3ps. And it has vehicles. Granted, you need to have a USB stick and can only download 1 thing at a time. But still, especially now that it's ridiculously cheap, what other reason do you need? LOL.

I just wanna add that after the update the game looks much crisper and runs a heckuva lot faster/smoother for some reason.
There's one lil problem though(but I think it's more of a client side problem) mid-game online the connection will fail and the room I'd be in would disappear.
I think it might just be the room maker quiting.

Nice, but too little too late. This should have been patched along side the 360 update when it came out. I specifically remember them saying that split screen would not happen on the PS3 version. One of the main reasons I didn't get the game. Don't see why I should now, since everyones playing something else.

Note: only the 2.0 PATCH has been released at this point. The patch is huge, but it doesn't include all of the game updates listed above.
The Titan Pack (not yet available on PS3) DOES include everything listed in the article above. The actual Titan release is still scheduled for March 19-ish.

Just downloaded the update and new map pack. It may have took a long time coming but this revamp gives the game a real new lease of life. It looks so much better with some great new content - the split-screen feature is great news!
Well Done Epic! I've always been a fan of UT and will firmly remain so.

sweet, i just bought the game again because of this i love playing splitscreen with my nephews and being able to get mods while your on your ps3 is a BIG plus, you guys should definitely pick this game up i got mine for 16 bucks used at gamecrazy

Awesome!!! I also noticed yesterday after downloading the patch that your character automatically taunts people after killing someone sometimes, which is cool. Who stops in the middle of a battle to select a taunt from a menu?
