V-Jump continues the FFXIII naming craze

Japanese magazines continue to unload one Final Fantasy XIII character after the other. This time around, director Tetsuya Nomura has unveiled via V-Jump magazine what can only be described as an unorthodox character in comparison to those we, as gamers, have come accustomed to.
Not only does this individual not feature any spikes within his hairdo, but he's not wielding a sword either. The character known as Sazh Kalzroy, comes off as a Ladies Man, and we're not talking about Leon Phelps.
From what we can gather from the scan, this green-clad character wields dual-pistols and has an odd love for those adorable yellow Chocobos. Don't worry female gamers, he's single!

I must say, the afro is bit uh...much. Also, I'm seeing a curious lack of melee weaponry. Lightning is the only character with a close range weapon and even then it doubles as a gun. Normally final fantasies have kept ffanged characters fairly limited in number, but then again, it could simply be the style of this particualr world. At any rate, this game is looking quite over the top so far, but may that'll work to its advantage :P

it shall be interisting to see how they do him, presently he seems silly but given a proper context and personalaty he could be good, and cant go wrong with dule guns.

Nobody knows a damn thing about these characters yet, and we have people saying they won't compare to previous games. That kind of opinion shouldn't even be showing itself until the actual game is out. I think this guy promises to be a cool character from what this scan shows.
First black character since Barrett if i'm not mistaken, yes?

Lol @ Gingo making the most racist comment I've read in a WHILE...
I kinda feel embarassed tho; I'm black, and you'll never catch me grinnin' and posing like that in ANY picture lol...I think if he had a serious face with more of an imperial pose (he sort looks like a military commander), alot of these reactions would have been mitigated...
But for now, he kinda looks...really, really, really corny...

Haha! This guy looks great! This is probably my favorite character announced so far.
@17 - Yeah I agree. This guy at least has some personality and I can see him being a good source of humor within the game. And I'm sure Square-Enix has done a good job incorporating him into the story. The Afro is a bit over-the-top, sure. But I think it just adds character.
