WWE SmackDown vs. Raw becomes Greatest Hit

THQ and JAKKS Pacific released a press announcement this morning stating that WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2007 has made the “Greatest Hits” list on PlayStation Portable. It was released in November 2006 (October 2006 on PS2). Achieving this feat is commendable by any nature, but in nine months is astonishing.

The Greatest Hits programme is officially supported by Sony. For a title to achieve this award, it has to have been available for at least nine months and sold over 250,000 copies.

Senior Vice President of sales, Scott Guthrie, stated “We look forward to seeing its popularity expand further as we bring WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2008 to seven platforms this holiday season, including …PlayStation 2 and wireless devices, and its debut on the …PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system.”

With the current success of the brand over the last year, we should see nothing but added content and dominance in the wrestling category. With fan support and adoption catapulting it to the “Greatest Hits” list, the new installment is sure to please.

    yeah wrestling is obviously fake and whatnot but people still enjoy watching it, It's basically like a dramatic tv show that tries to seem real.

    I don't personally watch wrestling but I always enjoy the games, may even buy 2008 if it's good

    Games like this take me back to being a kid. It actually makes more sense to play this game than to watch it on T.V. (personal opinion) So I actually might give this a try. (rental at least)

    When the Rock left, I stopped watching wrestling altogether. But the video games can be fun with a few friends.....I would like to see the PS3 version though :P

    Definitely a great feat.BTW i know that it is fake but i like it because it still is entertaining.

    wrestlings are fake although these games really rocks. I really liked smackdown vs raw 2007 on ps2.

    Wrestling is pretty fake and I personally hate watching wrestling but it is fun to play the game with a few friends and kick there but in the game!

    It's beyond me how this game sold that many copies.  Men in tight clothing grabbing other men in tight clothing. Nope, doesn't appeal to me.
