With the latest instalment in the Tenchu series moving exclusively to the Wii, don’t jump to the conclusion that developer Aquire has forgotten about the PlayStation – quite the contrary, in fact.
According to Famitsu, the company is currently developing a new Way of the Samurai title for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable.
The magazine states that Aquire has plans to not only update the game’s graphics, but the gameplay systems as well, putting great efforts into creating high level character AI.
Also mentioned was a new system that lets players influence the storyline by their actions. On-screen icons will indicate that you can use your weapon during the event and then based on your actions, different consequences will occur.
Outside of the new PS3 title, Famitsu also said that Aquire is developing a PSP version of the original Way of the Samurai title. The port will include ad-hoc wireless play, allowing two players to make use of their favorite characters in free battle. In addition, the title is also said to feature characters from Way of the Samurai 3.
