White Knight Chronicles confirmed for FY08

With a distinct lack of JRPGs on the market and PlayStation 3 owners getting a tad unhinged over the drought, it's reassuring to know that fans can prepare for a steady influx of the genre nearing the end of the current fiscal year.

Beginning with Disgaea 3 this August, PS3 owners can look forward to a succession of JRPG releases, including the likes of Valkyria Chronicles, (possibly) Final Fantasy XIII and now, White Knight Chronicles.

During Sony's Strategy presentation today, the platform holder confirmed that the JRPG would be released sometime before the end of the current fiscal year. Essentially, this means you can expect the game to hit retail shelves no later than March 31, 2009.

White Knight Chronicles is said to follow a young man and a princess in distress who slowly become closer as the story unravels. Though not much has been released regarding the title, we hope to bring you a decent amount of new information while attending this year's E3 Media and Business Summit next month, where the game will presumably make an appearance.

    Cool though 2 corrections..

     

    1: It's White Knight Chronicles now

     

    and

     

    2: Highly unlikely that FF XIII will be out this fiscal year

    @dave i think FF XII will be out in japan this fiscal year but i don't think america will be seeing it until summerish/fall.

    SE announced world release for FF13 long time ago so it wont be out in Japan first.

    Should be a White Knight Chronicles blowout at TGS/PLAYSTATION PREMIERE (if there is one this year) at the very least.

    The '08 Fiscal Year doesn't end until March 2009, anyway. So FF XIII may still come out. But I'm betting on a Fall release so it's not likely to be released this fiscal year, as Dave-The-Rave has said.

     I am excited for White Knight Chronicles.  I hope it is a good RPG.  Final Fantasies are great, but we need more than one franchise of RPGs.  I hope it is a solid game.

    psn id: gingo... glad to finally hear more of this title it was looking good and then there was no news of it so glad to hear it coming out this financial year
