Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed will arrive in major territories this November, it has been officially announced.

The mysterious action title is set to be released for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.

Assassin's Creed is one of the most anticipated games of the year. So far, two spectacular trailers have been released, which show Altair, the main character, taking out warriors during the Third Crusade. AC is developed by the team that worked on Prince of Persia and Splinter Cell, and elements of those games appear to feature in Assassin's Creed too.

"Assassin's Creed is going to be a huge launch for Ubisoft this year along with the added prestige of being the start of this exciting new franchise that is bringing something completely new to the market," commented Tony Key, Ubisoft's vice president of marketing.

"We're confident that Assassin's Creed will exceed expectations as a 'must-have' title this holiday season and will achieve both critical and commercial success."

The title is due to be unveiled fully during the E3 Media & Business Summit in July.
