Rock Band to be affordable

  • Posted May 20th, 2007 by Eric Blattberg

When we first heard of Harmonix's upcoming Rock Band, we immediately got excited about the opportunities and potential of the project.

But we overlooked an important factor: how much will the whole thing cost? With four instrument-based controllers: bass and lead guitars, a drum kit and microphone, could the price be as high as $150? Even $200?

Well Harmonix art director Ryan Lesser recently alluded to a lower price point. Speaking to GI.biz, Lesser remarked, "There's no way we're going to make a game that people are not going to be happy about buying. We scrutinize every little piece that goes into every peripheral to make sure that it's affordable and still really high quality."

Get ready to rock out - in an affordable fashion of course - when EA and Harmonix release Rock Band this holiday season.
