PSP-3000 to support PS3 controller?

Maxconsole is claiming that the upcoming PSP-3000 can be played using a PlayStation 3 controller, having been tipped off by an inside contact at Best Buy. Maybe Sony does love our thumb joints after all.
The insider also revealed that the latest PSP model would support 480i cables when playing games on a TV set, in addition to the standard component 480p.
Sony has already announced that the redesigned handheld will feature a ramped-up LCD screen - think crisper, more intense colours and less glare when playing outside - and a built-in microphone. It's out on October 14 in the US, October 15 in Europe and October 16 in Australia.
We've contacted the manufacturer for comment.

Sounds cool. I gues this means you either can connect wirelessly or USB to your PSP with a PS3 controller?
That should make remote play really interesting.

I think that the built-in mic is the best part, especially because of Skype. Now is probably the time for me to upgrade my PSP, although I most likely won't because I'm not gonna have enough money after buying so much of the PS3 titles coming later this year.

OK!? So this means that you wouldn't be holding the PSP but the controler? Or does it like in special way send the picture through the PS3 and comunicate through remotplay? This is wierd. Or maby theres some special attchment that puts it on the PS3 controler? Guess have to get it and see!
