No MGS 4 demo planned for PSN

Metal Gear Solid 4 is no doubt going to be system seller for the PlayStation 3 next year.

Gamers around the globe are already dealing with sweaty hands in anticipation to play at least a small portion of the game early. One thing that MGS fans would enjoy to partake in is a nice demo via PSN; however, according to Kojima Productions, this is not to be.

Host Ryan Payton says, “I can tell you, as of right now, we don't have any plans of uploading this demo on the PlayStation Store.” With that in mind, it looks as if the brand new E for All convention in Los Angeles will be the best bet to play MGS4 early.

Michael Shelling backs that statement up by saying, "[E for All] is going to be your one chance to actually play it prior to it launching next year."

So there you have it. Still, the idea of a demo should not be completely ruled out; as the release date nears and anticipation increases, who knows what Konami could do to quell our seemingly insatiable thirst for all things Metal Gear.

Until then, be sure to check back for more Metal Gear Solid 4 related information here at PSU as it becomes available.

Its great to get demo before you buy something but in this case you dont really need any, because everyone who owns ps3 and likes action is going to buy this anyway.

I was hoping they'd release a demo a couple months before launch so they could get everyone aware of it.

Well if you read closely, he says "not THIS demo". Maybe that means they could make a different one closer to release.

I second djrussell's notion, Hideo has never let anyone down with the other MG games, and I 'know' he won't this time either. Even with the extremely high expectations, this game will be great regardless, I would buy it without seeing a picture even... I mean come on, the box would say MGS4...what more do you need? : )   (Perhaps exceed expectations...)

You don't need a demo for this game. If you don't know what you are getting then you shouldn't have bought a PS3. Every since the launch this was "the game" to look forward too.  You want a demo go buy the first three.
