A teaser poster for the upcoming film adaptation of Namco’s Tekken videogame series has surfaced on the Internet today, courtesy of website Comingsoon.net

The text above the gigantic “T” structure reads as follows:

After the Great Terror Wars, governments fell…

Seven corporations rose from the ashes to rule all men…

Together they were known as The Iron Fist…

The mightiest of which was…

Tekken.

Details are sketchy at present, though the storyline is said to focus on two childhood friends who enter a martial arts tournament, where they eventually unravel the many secrets of the mysterious Tekken Corp. The movie was first announced back in 2003, under production of Japanese firm Gaga Communications.

Elsewhere, Comingsoon.net also confirmed that Christophe Gans (of Silent Hill fame) is to begin shooting the Onimusha movie in spring 2008.

    I already got a Tekken movie on my hard drive... though it's in anime. Lol, it kindda got the same storyline!!

    == Possible Spoiler lol==

    Jun and Kazuya met each other at an early age, where Heihachi punished Kazuya for helping Jun, by throwing him out of a cliff (giving him the big scar on his chest). They never see each other, (untill the tournament) and Jun ends up being a cop, while Kazuya ends up being a hatefull person, whose only goal is to kill Heihachi. You guys figure the rest. (btw, it involves mecha dinos, who eats Anna, and gets ripped up by Kazuya)

    This is Horrorable, Im a Huge Tekken fan, But I hate game-based movies, I think all game movies should be made by the people who make the game, and made in CGI and MO-CAP, never live actors(cause they can only do so much, but its still never enough) I feel the same way for Comic book movies....................

    I feel the same way about movies from games should be done in cgi by the devs themselves.

    I've seen the anime Tekken, only 60minutes long and needed more better fight scenes, still good though.
