One of the biggest movies of 2007, Spider-Man 3, has continued to make its mark this week, with Sony announcing that the movie could possibly be their best selling Blu-ray title to date.

The final numbers will be released in a few days however, but it should be noted that Spider-Man 3 has crawled past the sophisticated Casino Royale in first week sales. It should also be noted that the Spider-Man 3 Blu-ray comes packaged in the 40GB PlayStation 3 bundle in North America.

Spider-Man 3 could possibly be the last Spider-Man movie in the series as lead star, Toby McGuire, has announced that he would not return back for any variations of the popular comic book franchise.

Stay tuned for more Blu-ray news here at PSU as it breaks.

    Lets hope the sales numbers will be "WOW" enough to put a dent in overall DVD sales.  Highly unlikely I know but a man needs to have goals you know.

    psn id: gingo.... this is great news that spider man 3 has outsold casino royale in its first week becasue casino royale had sold quite a lot of copies before this and spider man 3 has blown it away

    I think Spiderman 3 will be short-lived in it's reign as best selling blu-ray title.  Ratatouille seems to be selling like hotcakes and I have a feeling that this blu-ray exclusive from Disney will take the top spot nex week.

    I'm glad there won't be more spidey movies, the third one blew big time.  Still got it on blu-ray for the cgi though, and i'll definitely get the first and second.

    @Dave-The-Rave

    Don't be biased towards Transformers, that movie was awesome, you can't blame the movie just because of it's publisher. I'm sure if it would come out also on Blu-Ray you would say the same thing about it as as you said for Spider-Man 3.

    I watched this BluRay last night. It's pretty cool. I'm sure the bundle has a lot to do with the sales though.

    Actually Toby Mcguire and cast said they would return if the story was strong enough.

    I bought the DVD, and next week I will be buying the Blu-Ray trilogy, the reason I bought the DVD version first, was because I couldn't afford the Blu-Ray trilogy then, and my 3 year old son gets the DVD trilogy= we're both happy...

    Meh the movie could've been better with more airtime of venom and not emo spidey. lol

    Great news, but they also said there would be no more Saw movies, so I won't hold my breath.

    Like Uncool said, I wish there was more Venom and less emo-Tobey.

    It's nice to see this movie doing well. I was disappointed with it though. Venom was the best spidey villain imo and this movie killed his cred. Major letdown.

    Just imagine if Transformers were on BD, it would've been close competition between Spidey and the robots! It's a shame it isn't, I'll be patient and wait for it to finally come onto BD.
