Users on the official PlayStation forums have reported multiple hardware issues since installing the Firmware 2.0 update on their PlayStation 3 console.

PS3 owners claim that, since installing the update, their consoles have experienced a number of issues, some of which include serious hardware faults, such as the machine’s inability to read game discs or indeed ceasing to function at all.

Other oddities include a slow down of performance and loss of content.

Sony Computer Entertainment has yet to comment on the alleged faults. Stay tuned to PSU for more developments as they become available.

Last night it happend to me and two other clan mates of mine.  I was hosting a game in Warhawk and then all of a sudden i was kicked off Warhawk and the Playstation Network.  When I tired to get back online it wouldn't let me, but when i switched to another account it was fine.  The only problem was is that it would say my other account was still online and in Warhawk!  I HOPE SONY IS WORKING ON A SOLLUTION SOON!!!!  I was queted on this last night about 3am EST saying "More bad than good has came from this update".

my system crashed 6 times in a row...everytime i started smething (a setup or game disk) it would crash, i tought it was the info bar so i took it off.fixed it, but now my themes wont stay on and they did before..mind you his happened yesterday and not right after the update minus a few freezes that i rubbed off as a launch bug, it rarely ever freezes but it does every 2 months or so, this is a launch system also. but the themes crap is pissin me off, not as pissed as when i thought my p3 was broke cause of the constant freezing.

I hate to see this happen. I havent had any problems, making themes and playing games constantly. No probs. At least its not hardware setups, b/c not much you can do to fix that except change it. Im sure sony will have a resolution soon. Sony dont let these people down.

I've had no problems. I'm thinking that the new firmware just didn't install correctly in those people's cases. Sony should simply release a FW 2.01 that only makes minimal tweaks in the installation process as a bug fix.

Well, my ps3 hasn't made many errors since the update, but the errors that it did bring are pretty annoying. I do hope they fix them.
