Now that CES is here the floodgates on Metal Gear Solid 4 is beginning to open up and the information is sliding through. That is how we are able to bring you some of the newest details regarding Metal Gear Solid 4 at CES.
PlayStation Universe is not attending the event this year but from the great number of info we are getting in, we are able to relay some of the core aspects regarding MGS4. First off, it is the same demo that was played at the 2007 E for All convention last October in Los Angeles, which means that nothing groundbreaking comes, but we can report that the acceptance of the Dual Shock 3 controller works hand in hand with MGS4. Secondly, Konami is not able to confirm if the game will run on 60fps at 1080p. As reported earlier, the game switches from 30fps to 60fps depending on what is going on, on screen. Finally, Konami is not setting MGS4 to a solid release date just yet, but they are giving hint for an announcement coming late February, which is around the time of the Game Developer’s Conference from February 18th-22nd.
So it is good to see something regarding MGS4 coming from CES, but going from Konami’s word, something concrete should be coming a month from now.

Nice a late february annoucement around the GDC time of course the xbox360 fans and owners will suspect a release of mgs4 for the 360 its going to be annoying folks so lets brace ourselves for more, more, more, and more of them saying this all over again.
I hope the annoucement is something that will be like using the psp to control mkII now that would be neat or maybe a mgs4 accessory stand that allows the psp to be propped up so that gamers could see what the mkII sees while controlling it with a ps3 controller. But i know the annoucement would probably be the release date and many more.

darkNinja86: Shut up and say something worthwhile about the damn article. You waste bandwidth and hard drive space.

Everything here was already said except the announcement date in Feb. If it's not a release date, then they should say the PSP can control MKII, like what was mentioned over a year ago. Hopefully it isn't something stupid.

Punisher99 is right - this is a very big property and Konami will want to make as much income as possible from it.
If Halo 3 can sell 8 million copies in six months then Konami will want 10 million units sold of Metal Gear Solid 4 over the same period. That's fair enough considering that it is PS3's flagship title.
Id be keen to know how well Assasins Creed has sold on Xbox 360 compared with PS3. This title was more or less pushed as a PS3 lead up until final release when it was opened up to both platforms. If it fails on Xbox360 that might give more reason for publishers to return to Playstation. Anyone know the figures?
MGS & Final Fantasy are the biggest hitters that are still exclusive. Again the best thing that could happen is for these titles to set record sales whilst DMC4, and GTA4 to fail across all platforms.

well, according to VG charts 360 is currently at 2.53m
and Ps3 is at 1.63m. World wide numbers -

Thanks Tab. I would have thought it would be the other way around and have done a lot better on PS3.
Assasins Creed was one of the big releases on PS3 with little competition, where as it was one of many titles being releases on Xbox 360.

Go here, and watch the video. It's a different demo. As for them releasing a demo, I'm not too worried. I'm getting the game no matter what. I just want them to release the game! Too many are getting pushed back. (MGS4, BIA HH, GTA4, Army of Two)
