Kojima Productions Assistant Producer, Ryan Payton, has revealed that the company will not be releasing a demo of the highly anticipated Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots next month, despite reports to the contrary.
Reports of such a release originated from publication PSW, which claimed that a playable demo of the PlayStation 3-exclusive stealth romp would make an appearance on PlayStation Network some time next month.
However, speaking in a recent webcast, Payton shot down any hopes of seeing a demo, stating, "that's not the case".
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is due out in Q2 2008.

its funny how is everybody shock about this because Konami has said there wouldn't be a demo before.... its just people report the wrong things just to get a story out there and then when the developers come out themselves and squash those false reports then people get mad.... im not surprise ..

Yeah, I wish they would flag unconfirmed articles as rumors and you could select rumor filter so we don't have to keep reading articles that usually end up being false in the end anyway.

Common guys, Its not Konami's fault that website editors and news reporters are idiots. If I said MGS 4 is cancelled and it turns out to be a lie, wouldn't it be my problem not Konami's?
If you hate this game cause of all the news thats comming out for it, then maybe you should stop going to "NEWS" sites. I mean seriously, you come here to hear about news, if it turns out to be false, you shrug and go, oh well, what else is happening today.
Either way, stop blaming MGS4 for other peoples stupidity.

Well it was said before that there would be no demo. People only have themselves when they get worked up about unconfirmed rumors and dates.

Not truly surprised about this. Konami was pretty much adament in the past about there not being a DEMO before release. On a game such as this, I would rather not play a demo version and then be depressed after finishing it wanting more and more. Was not a major MGS fan in the past....nothing against the series. But I must admit that I am psyched for this title. Hopefully they just focus on finishing an amazing product.

demo or no demo, shouldn't have a huge impact on sales. there is enough hype, that a demo would probably only hurt sales if it was bad

Thats okay about no demo. All that would have done was stopped me from racking up more medal and kils on Warhawk!
