Capcom has posted a translated version of Famitsu’s Resident Evil 5 interview on its blog, allowing fans to view the video with English subtitles for the first time.
The interview itself is conducted with the game’s producer, Jun Takeuchi, who takes the time to describe various elements of the forthcoming survival horror outing in detail, covering topics such as game system, weapons and storyline.
Also included in this updated version is a brief history of the main titles in the Resident Evil franchise up to this point, along with the footage of RE5 included in the original Japanese interview.
Among the details Takeuchi reveals is the impact of light and shadow in the game, and specifically how the developers are able to use it to alleviate the players sense of fear in the horror title.
Also discussed is protagonist Chris Redfield, with Takeuchi revealing that the team intends to bring to light Redfield’s various exploits over the past ten years following the events of RE1, such as exploring the kind of individual he has become, and what happened to the S.T.A.R.S team from the original game.
