David Cage, founder and CEO of Quantic Dream, has confirmed that the studio has “many plans” in regards to downloadable content for its ambitious PlayStation 3 outing, Heavy Rain.

Speaking with D-pad, Cage revealed that although his priority is cramming as much content as possible on Blu-ray, there are plans to introduce DLC later down the line.

“Honestly, my focus is on putting as much content as possible on the Blu-ray,” he told D-pad.

“We have many plans for DLC, but I won’t work on them until the game is finished and fully satisfying. Games are expensive; my focus is to give as much as I can to gamers for their money.”

Sony Europe boss David Reeves recently labelled Heavy Rain as the ‘most important’ PS3 release this year.

It's important because it's a NEW IP, just about every thing else we have is a sequel. People want new experiences and new gameplay elements not to mention mature story lines that arnt all about how many people you can shoot in 30 seconds.

Also this game is more of an interactive movie than a book or novel.

If only David Reeves would start bringing the point n'click adventures back to PlayStation (PS3/PSN/PSP). Starting with Broken Sword (past, present and future installments), Myst (ditto) and Discworld (also ditto). I think Heavy Rain is an evolution of the point n'click adventure, PS3 could be the console that can breathe new life into an (apparently) dead genre.

People, GO PLAY INDIGO PROPHECY, its made by Quantic Dream and will give you a good idea of what to expect from them. That game is freaking amazing and Heavy Rain looks to be a lot better than Indigo Prophecy since Heavy Rain wont be using supernatural elements in the story. It was that crap that ruined the last 20 mins of Indigo Prophecy.

This is the first PS3 game that I can not wait to get my hands on.  I'm sick of looking at Ratchet and Clank along with Little Big Planet next to a library of Xbox and Nintendo games.

At least someone has the right idea with giving us a lot of content on the disc, rather than holding stuff back to charge us extra for it *cough* EA.

Can't honestly wait for this game. It's going to be awesome if last year's TGS (?) is anything to go by!

From what ive heard and seen this game is almost survival horror but like another poster said it plays like an interactive movie. All the cut scenes are of a heroine running from this guy inside a house with timed button sequences. It looks visually stunning and seems like it will be fun im pre-orderin 4 sure
