MLB 09: The Show requires massive install

Hard drives are like arteries -- when they're clogged, you've got a problem.

Are you a big baseball fan? If so, it might be time to upgrade your hard drive. When our review copy of MLB 09: The Show floated into our mailbox today, we were a bit disappointed to discover that it, like so many other recent games, has a mandatory 5GB install. While installs often benefit loading times and game stability, it's no fun when you have to delete other media, downloadable games, and other content to make room for a new install. We certainly wouldn't mind having one of those 500GB HDDs handy right now.

Stay tuned for our upcoming MLB 09: The Show review.

I don't care.  I upgraded to a small 160GB forever ago (more than enough for me), and I must have the best baseball game on the market.

Buy a 500GB one then. I did. And have 160GB external. Now i never have to worry about installs again.

But to be fair, the amount of games requiring installs has gone down.

It's 500 gigs to and it's a lot cheaper than the one they refer you too.

Anyone curious about how to install here's a video from IGN. Very easy.

I got a western digital scorpio blue 500GB from amazon for $105. I was going to get the the samsung, but I read the comments about it and few people had problems with heat and noise so I said screw it. My scorpio blue runs quite and cool no problems so far. 500GB!!!!

mlb 07: the show, had a mandatory 1.8GB install, so this is only 3 more GB, really not that big a deal in my eyes.

total bs that a sports game requires an install. i can gurantee you that this pushes absolutely no boundaries. yet here is this is install; its just just programmers being lazy.     LAME... i'll still get the game though
