Fallout 3 and LittleBigPlanet, two very deserving games, were the hot ticket titles at this year's Game Developer Choice Awards. LittleBigPlanet had the most awards, nabbing Best Debut, Best Game Design, Best Tech and the Innovation Award, while Fallout 3 was honored with Best Writing and the most important award of them all, Game of the Year.
Here's all of the winners, as picked by game developers themselves.
Best Debut: LittleBigPlanet
Best Audio: Dead Space
Best Game Design: LittleBigPlanet
Best Downloadable Game: World of Goo
Best Handheld Game: Chains of Olympus
Best Writing: Fallout 3
Best Technology: LittleBigPlanet
Best Visual Arts: Prince of Persia
Innovation Award: LittleBigPlanet
Game of the Year: Fallout 3

Very well deserved! Fallout 3 was truly one of the great events of the year. I feel sorry on people who "don't get it" when it comes to that game. LBP promised innovation and delivered it. With all the talk about money, sales, and the economy it was real refreshing to see someone go out on a limb with IP the way Sony did.
But really, no mention of MGS4? I think this proves that ADD has ransacked the new generation.. That game was a masterpiece!

eaaa...I dunno, I can see why Fallout 3 was game of the year, but for that it isn't much since there were good games out but nothing mind blowing. Fallout 3 wasn't mind blowing but still better then the others. Fallout 3 didn't really "dominate" when looking at the awards but LBP certainly did.
I don't agree with some of those though.

I agree about 90% with the winner selection. LBP definitely deserved to win some awards, but I'm not so sure about Fallout 3. Sure, it's fun and there is a lot of cool stuff to do... but even after the patches there are bugs and unpolished aspects of it that *really* aren't game of the year material. I really like it, and I am still playing it, but still... Game of the Year? Deadspace was fanatastic and deserved at least one award, and yeah, where is MGS4? I guess Prince of Persia beat it for best visual arts or Fallout 3 for writing.
What on earth is World of Goo?

Fallout 3 was more like XBox 360 and PC game of the year. Don't get me wrong the PS3 version is good but as a consumer I wish Bethesda would have stated previous to me buying it that DLC would not be for the PS3. I could have purchased it for my computer. I did expect DLC thinking that they would support the PS3 more than they did Oblivion. Due to that reason it can not be my game of the year and Bethesda will never get me to purchase another one of their products. Shame on you Bethesda. Next time warn people. Great game but no PS3 support, like I said could have gotten the PC version.
