Thief IV to be unveiled on May 11

According to the latest issue of Edge, Eidos Montreal will be revealing their second project, Thief IV, on May 11.

Details on the sequel are sketchy at best, though according to a comment made by former Eidos CEO Rob Dyer back in 2005, there’s a strong possibility the follow-up may take place in modern times, as opposed to the medieval setting of past iterations.

"People want another Thief, too. We'll make that series more modern, though...the medieval thing's run its course," Dyer said.

Ion Storm Austin was the original developer behind the project before the studio folded in February 2005. It will be interesting to see where Eidos Montreal takes the series and how the game will look on current generation hardware. Stay tuned for more information.

Not sure I can do a pure stealth game... Always more of a Metal Gear type than a Splinter Cell (and therefore Thief) type.

My only hope is that if Thief IV does come to PS3, then they throw in Deadly Shadows with it (just like Starbreeze/Atari did with the new R1dd1ck game). That was an xbox system seller for me. I must have played through it at least 10 times. IMO, the most beautiful game on the system.
