Activision, clearly milking the Guitar Hero cash cow, announced Guitar Hero: Greatest Hits -- which later became Guitar Hero: Smash Hits -- a few months ago. In this grand re-purposing of old Guitar Hero tracks, players can play dozens of songs from five past Guitar Hero games using the Guitar Hero World Tour framework, meaning guitar, bass, drums, and vocals will all make an appearance.

So, which of your past favorites made the cut? The full track list was revealed to IGN earlier today. The set-list contains tracks from Guitar Hero I, II, and III, as well as a half dozen songs from Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s and a lone entry from Guitar Hero: Aerosmith. Take a look.

This could be awesome. I hate having to use my PS2 just to play Guitar Hero, Battlefront 2, and Wipeout Fusion.

Great list, but I'm not really liking the lack of All That Remains and Buckethead from GH2. Will probably get this anyway...

Normally, I'd be all over making fun of this as milking the franchise, but the addition of all the instruments and getting rid of the crap covers that littered GH1&2 make this worthwhile, especially to those that never played them. I'll definitely be picking this up, although I hope that they'll let you export tracks to your HDD a la Rock Band, although I doubt it.

The lack of Holy Diver and Sweet Child o Mine sux majorly. They may not have included Sweet Child o Mine due to GnR's relationship with RB now. Hopefully it and the entire Appetite album will find its way on to RB in the future.

The only GH game I ever owned was GH III. Was thinkin about pickin this one up for the above mentioned titles and Shout at the Devil,  Mother, and Them Bones. The only other decent lookin songs look like Pantera ann Freebird.Definitely a no-go now. Will stick to my 500 plus songs on RB. This collection is not worth 60.00.

I was hoping for an expansion like this so I will certainly pick this up, it is unfortunate that G&R have not made the final cut but the inclusion of QOTSA almost makes up for it.

Like everything in life you cant always have exactly what youy want. I can just imagine if they filled an enitre Blu-ray with every single back catalogue track it would still not be enough for some people.

I just think it's ironic that Harmonix made the setlists for GH 1, 2 and 80's, and now Activision are going to use them to compete with Rock Band...

But I must say that I'm intrigued by the fact you will be able to play TTFAF on DRUMS!!! ZOMFG

I really wish they would do the same thing as rock band and let you export the songs so you can use them in the other game.  Best case though, I'd love it if the ps3 version made an additional disc that was all the songs from world tour, this disc, and metallica.  I would definitely pay extra for that, and I doubt space on the disc would be an issue.
