According to the cover of Japan’s latest Weekly Famitsu, SEGA is in the process of developing a brand new entry in the Yakuza franchise.
Scans of the article itself have yet to surface, but early reports suggest that the game will take the form of a prequel featuring a young Kazuma Kiryu. Producer Toshihiro Nagoshi is also on board the project.
The most recent instalment in the series, Yakuza 3, hit Japanese PS3’s back in February this year, though there’s currently no word on the possibility of a western release.
We hope to bring you more details on the alleged prequel as soon as they become available.
