Fallout 3 DLC delayed, Broken Steel to be first release

Bethesda posted on the PlayStation Blog that the upcoming Fallout 3 DLC has been delayed and that the first DLC will come out “[hopefully] by the end of September.”

Bethesda admitted it may seem like a long wait but cites extensive testing requirements as reasons for the delay. Not only must it have regular tests, but they need to “test each DLC when used in conjunction with each of the other DLC, as well as all of them together, along with the entire original game.”

Bethesda also announced that per demand, there will be trophies in each of the DLC and that Broken Steel will be the first to arrive, followed by Operation Anchorage and The Pitt, “probably at the same time.” Point Lookout and Mothership Zeta will follow afterward. More details on the other expansions will come after Broken Steel is out.

Mm... I did like Fallout, but still not sure about these updates.  Haven't heard the best reviews on them.  I guess it will all come down to the price.

    Read this earlier today.

I don't care that the DLC is being delayed. Personally, I'm just fine with it being delayed. The longer it takes the more bugs they get ironed out.

Plus, I have a lot of other games I can play while I wait.

a shame all these DLC are coming so long after I put 250 hours into this game. At this point im burnt out and I am not really interested in dishing out $30+ for all the DLC just for a few hours worth of gameplay... even more so in sept.

Maybe a year from now I will GameFly the GOTY edition of Fallout 3 and just keep the DLC for nothing. :-p

after how glitchy the 360/PC versions were, I gotta say TYVM! it'd be nice to get them in good form :)

If the developers want to take their time to get it right, I say more power to them.

Shame really but I dont mind waiting if they stamp on more bugs/glitches in the meantime. I think I'd prefer Broken Steel to Anchorage anywho, as the latter is more combat orientated and generally shorter, whereas Steel continues the main story where it left off in the main game.

    Nooooo!

I got back into Fallout 3 in preperation for the DLC.

    Curses.

But it would be logical to have Broken Steel first, so I'm good with that.

I played Operation Anchorage and The Pitt on my 360, they're not worth it, especially Operation Anchorage. Ah, and both were broken and glitched, so waiting means they're trying to avoid what happened with The Pitt.

I didn't plan on buying any of the DLC until Broken Steel came out anyways.  I'm at the level cap, and I wasn't about to play any more Fallout 3 until the level cap was raised.  So this news is just fine with me.
