The team at Natsume have announced that PlayStation 3 safari outing Afrika has gone gold and is on track for its hotly anticipated release on U.S. shores early next month.
Released in Japan back in August 2008, Afrika pits gamers in the shoes of a freelance photographer, allowing users to snap dramatic shots of heaps of wildlife, including Lions, Cheetas, Elephants and Rhinos across meticulously rendered backdrops. You’ll also be able to devourer a plethora of info on the animals in both written and video form, as well as purchase new equipment utilizing the cash earned from lucrative snap shots you've taken.
Natsume CEO and president, Hiro Maekawa, commented: "We are thrilled about Afrika's upcoming release in North America. And it's certainly been a pleasure working with Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios on the project.”
"Afrika is a truly unique gaming experience. Anyone can pick it up and enjoy its beauty, but it has enough depth and challenge to satisfy even the most hardcore players."
Afrika will be released exclusively for PS3 on October 6, 2009.

Why so long between the Japanese release and NA? I am vaguely interested in this Pokemon Snap for adults with HDTVs.

Idk i may pick this game up used for a relaxing type game. It would actually be really fun with trophies and such, plus if you can export photos it would be cool for wallpapers. But there's too many other games im really interested in to buy this new.

I'm not the type of gamer who cares about trophies. If the game is good I'll play it so I might think about this one. Honestly I didn't think we were getting this one. As far as Europe goes I'm starting to get pissed that everyone is constantly overlooking it. I'm from America and it annoys me, I can't imagine how they feel.

Wow, Mike. You spelt Cheetahs wrong (second paragraph) and "...able to devourer a plethora..."? What on Earth is that? I believe you mean devour, but with the atrocious vocabularly that you call English, I'm unsure as to what you mean. As always: Learn English; then post.

Not for England. We get games the same time as the rest of Europe, yet the game isn't translated at all. We get a game that's exactly the same as the American version, spelling mistakes included. I wouldn't mind having to wait the additional time is translations were made, but if we're to get a game using American misspellings, at least give it to us at the same time as America! There are no translations, so release the game in both nations simultaneously, or actually make the effort to perform the translations that you're using this additional time for!
