Dhani Harrison has let slip that he is currently working with developer Harmonix on a third Rock Band game.

Harrison, who previously collaborated with the studio on The Beatles: Rock Band, told the Chicago Tribune that fans can expect more realism when it comes to Rock Band 3’s peripherals.

“I’m working on Rock Band 3 and making the controllers more real so people can actually learn how to play music while playing the game,” said Harrison. “Give me a couple years, it’s going to happen”.

Touching on The Beatles: Rock Band, Harrison commented, "I guess I'm accidentally responsible for 'Rock Band' becoming the Beatles digital platform, but it was a no-brainer.”

“It's really difficult to get the Beatles to agree on anything, but I set up demos for them and [longtime Beatles confidant] Neil Aspinall instantly saw the potential."

Wow, I wonder if we'll get Rock Band 3 in Australia. We have The Beatles Rock Band and Lego Rock Band, BUT NOT ROCK BAND 2!!!!!!! As much as I love the franchise, this is ridiculous.

Guitar Hero has won in this country. It's turned listening to Metal music into a fashion here.

The problem I see here is they have to be careful making it feel TOO real, the whole point of any of these games is that they're fun because you dont actually have to know how to play an instrument. If it turns into a "just plug in a real guitar" type of situation it instantly loses that "everyone can play" appeal.

@5 I'm sorry to hear you still don't have RB2, but how has GH turned "metal" into a fashion?  Rock Band DLC has FAR more REAL metal than the crap activision thinks is "metal".  Besides, the new activion crap is geared more toward taylor swift and hilary duff fans than people who like actual good music so I truly hope your country get get its hands on the vastly superior competitor soon.

I don't know if I'm understanding this wrong but the reason I don't get into these games is they're constantly changing the peripherals. I don't want 3 sets of mics, guitars, and drums laying around. Plus a turntable for DJ Hero and guitars for guitar hero. No thanks. Plus it's expensive junk to have no use for
