The online phenomenon that is YouTube has coughed up some fresh off-screen footage of upcoming PlayStation 3 exclusive mystery romp, Heavy Rain.
Seen below, the footage depicts one of the four main characters in action, namely Ethan Mars. Heavy Rain should be with us some time early this year, though a firm release date has yet to be determined.

I think i'll be viewing walkthroughs of this game. don't think i'll get it, or at least, not as soon as it is released.

As other comments have already pointed out, those games can go either way. A good adventure game is a terrific experience, while a halfhearted try will not go very far in this genre. (Even though PSU states this is an interactive drama, I'll stick to calling this an adventure game!)

I'm not buying this until the reviews come out but of course its all personal opinion. Theres a few games I've bought from reviews and didn't like it.

Looks so real but yet so fake, I mean, dad and son conversation could be much more fluid and less repetitive...

This game would probably look alot better if the guy playing wasn't walking back and forth to the same spots for no reason lika a mindless retard.

I am so thrilled that other ppl are finally starting to question this game. For as long as I can remember there has been crazy hype around this game, and I think it looks completely pointless. Just watching the 5 minute video almost put me to sleep.
I see posts like, (looks epic or looks awesome) What looks awesome? some medicore CGI dude having a conversation with his son? Ummm, sorry guys but that was cool in 1998.

The point of this scene is to further create some emotional attachment towards the father and son. To eventually really make you care about them. To try to help you feel what he feels. In any disaster movie, youre routing for the family to survive. While you see millions of people drowning, being blown up, or zapped by aliens, you couldnt care less, you just think "wow that was a cool explosion." Its because you dont know them, there is no emotional connection to them. just to the family the movie is focussing on. I remember watching independence day in the theatre and when the stupid family dog was able to just make it out of the way of the explosion, people in the theatre cheered. for a dog and the family. meanwhile millions were burning alive. This is because of the emotional attachment towards them. this is what this game is trying to do. so when that kids face is ripped off and eaten right in front of you, you will curl up in the fetal position staring blankly at the screen. that is the point.

Just as I thought, another brilliant gameplay movie. I'll try to get this at launch, however, I'll wait for a review or two... I sure hope this lives up to the massive hype built around it...
