Activision Blizzard laid out its plans for releases in 2010, including new installments for Call of Duty, Tony Hawk, Spiderman, and Guitar Hero. During today’s earnings call, Activision CEO Mike Griffith said games like Tony Hawk Ride, which received poor ratings from critics, will be released before the end of the year.
Sequels in the Guitar Hero and Call of Duty series should come as little surprise. Both games helped push the publisher into higher than expected earnings for 2009 holiday quarter. The company brought in $1.56 billion USD during the company’s Q4. Over the course of the year, Activision boasted $4.28 billion in revenue.
Griffith said Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was the best-selling game overall in the U.S. and Europe, with DJ Hero as the highest grossing new IP in 2009. There is little information available about the next Call of Duty, but we can only assume it’ll sell quite well.
