Two new PS3 Slim models on the way

Sony has filed paperwork with the FCC for two new PlayStation 3 Slim models. The new models, CECH-2101A and CECH-2101B, filed by Sand Dollar Enterprise, Sony’s pseudonym company, will likely have the same size hard drives as the current models – 120GB and 250GB. The coding in the current Slim line are CECH-2001A and CECH-2001B, with the letters at the end indicating the different hard drive sizes.
According to the FCC site, a lot of the components are the same – 802.11b/g and Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR transceivers. All of these features are the same that are in the current Slim models. The different could simply be in the chip manufacturer, but it’s unclear at this time.
We’ve asked Sony for a comment and if they could provide any details. We’ll fill you in if/when we hear back.

Dont see why so many are after Wireless N tech, yeah it would be nice to have. But for starters wireless N will not give you faster downloads, in 99% of cases the bottlenck lies with your broadband connection and its speed, so unless you are one of the few to have virgins 50MB service it aint gonna make any difference. Wireless b/g handles streaming media without issue so unless you are transfering or working with large files then N really is a bit over kill. Would still be a nice to have though.
Also cant believe people are STILL bleeting on about BC........give it up, I have a uk launch BC system and i have played PS2 games about twice in nearly 3 years, plus you can now buy a ps2 slim for £29.99

Has anyone considered the possibility of a redesigned image?
The console's appearance has been criticised by many, and although it's unlikely, when I first read that the harddrives would remain the same, my initial thought was that they were redesigning the console's appearance. After the Slim was released, Sony went through a lot of effort to redesign PS3's image - a new logo, redesigned cases, all to go with new console. After all the negative criticism they received regarding the console's appearance, I think it's logical to assume that Sony are considering a change in the aesthetics of the console to please those that dislike it - to please all of their consumers.
It's a slim chance, I know (pun not intended), but it's definitely a possibility.

@22 (smcculligh03) You probably are having trouble ordering one because the new ones are coming out. Sony is likely clearing out old inventory before putting out the new stuff. It happens all the time. So, you can look around for a current model and get it, then be unhappy when it\\\'s
