SCEE: We don't want devs to "force" PS Move on games

Sony Europe’s Richard Marks has said that the hardware manufacturer doesn’t want to see game developers “force” PlayStation Move compatibility on to titles where it “doesn’t make sense.”
Speaking during a chinwag with CVG, Marks said that although he’s a big fan of Sony’s latest peripheral, he noted that it isn’t the only controller available on the PlayStation 3.
“I don’t want that to happen. I love the Move but it’s not the only controller on our platform,” he said. “We have a great controller already – the DualShock – and some experiences are supposed to be used with that."
“A new set of experiences that use more special input – that’s what’s good for the Move. So I think our first-party will always continue to court both controllers.”
Marks went on to add that he doesn’t “want to see somebody just force the Move on to a game that it doesn’t make sense for.”
PlayStation Move is due out in September.

This sounds like a good strategy. Resident Evil 4 for the Wii controlled very intuitive, so I can see this working in favour for the Move, that'll hopefully have more "core"-titles to offer.

yh i was thinkin this when it came 2 socom :/ and personally i just think moves a waste of sonys time n money anyway. i saw a trailer for the new time crisis yesterday where the people in the trailer were using the move controllers but id rather just have a light gun cos it would just b so much better. I dont think sony have 2 keep up with microsoft on thier natal project, half the games that will use natal id rather have a controller 4 anyway, such as a car game - id rather have a racing wheel infront of me than just steer thin air :/

@1, Yes you are first, hooray for you.
Now, why are you LYAO?As for teh article; I think this was obvious to all of us; they would never stop using the dualshock to use only Move... even the Wii knows this, that's why it has a controller when you turn it sideways.

Thank God Sony is not focusing everything on the move. I hate motion controls and feel they ruin gaming.

The problem is you can't have "light guns" anymore because they dont work on HDTVs. You have to move to a new technology in order to play the same type of games and that means, for Nintendo, their Wiimote sensor bar and for the PS3 the visual tracking camera. Get over it, this is the new way.

What Sony needs to do is give players the choice of useing the move or the Dualshock controllers for any game.

@7
you're right,except for the fact that the wii isn't meant to be used on an HD TV,the sensor bar is used because it's a cheaper method.
@8
Yeah,that's what i'm hoping for,all these motion control haters,have probably not seen ANY of the demos,especially for Socom,otherwise they'd know what they're missing out on.

Move is going to be a nice alternative. Microsoft's Natal is going to be iffy, when is the last time they showed a working demo? I would get pissed if I was playing a game using Natal and someone walked behind me or was forced to sit in view of the camera and made movements that distracted the technology into processing the wrong command.

This proves that Sony know what they're doing.Sony are going to dominate the motion controller market. This is the article that made me confident of Move's success, and has encouraged me to purchase one. It proves that it won't be a casual periphral, offering us shovelware and forced casual experiences.
