Capcom’s Keiji Inafune has revealed that zombie sequel Dead Rising 2 will feature an improved difficulty curve, though made it clear that parts of the game will get pretty tough and as a result players will need to call upon their mates to help them out.

Speaking to the chaps at Joystiq, Inafune touched on the original game, pointing out “it wasn’t the perfect difficulty curve and that there were some rough areas that you did kinda need to go on the internet in some cases.”

Dead Rising 2, however, “will be better balanced,” though Inafune further commented: “You’re going to need support network, whether it’s people on the internet or whether it’s a friend playing [online] co-op,” adding, “you’re going to need some kind of support because it is going to be a difficult game.”

Dead Rising 2 hits shops on August 31.

     I never needed to go on the net to figure out all of the first one. This generation is weak sometimes. In my day you either got good or you died!

    @2
    yea and die time and time again untill u beat the system, games use to make you have to improve your gameplay to succeed but not so much now. But dont forget not everyone is hardcore so this is understandable. If your like me you will finish this on hard mode too anyway. especaially if theres a trophy for it! lol

     @3 I do consider myself a bit hardcore and in the older days of gaming where I'm from yes you would die numerous times in order to improve, that was just the nature of the game, let you with a sense of accomplishment when you finally got it right. I do think a lot of games today are too easy on the player with all of that said though my post was just meant to be a falsely angry joke. I wasnt actually attacking anyone. It does bother me though when I see someone go online or sit a strategy guide in their lap before they even load up the game for the first time. If you are truly stuck and you aren't getting something after a long time, yea look it up and see what the solution is and learn to look at the situation from a different view point so next time you find yourself in a similar situation even on another game youll be able to do it yourself. But I'll never get the people that look up trophies or strategy videos and guides before they even really start. If you already know everything that's going to happen and how to do everything what's the point? Boring.

    Why can't they just bring the first Dead Rising to the PS3 already? I want to buy this game for my PS3 collection but I don't want to buy this game for my PS3 if i can't own the entire sereies for one system.

     @5 I was wondering. I bet the 360 version and was expecting a ps3 version but they created a wii version of all things. busted graphics and controls. I knew that version was just going to be some gimnmicky motion crap that was half done.
