Dark Souls hitting Europe & US in 2011, first screens surface

Namco Bandai’s announced that Dark Souls – the spiritual successor to 2009’s notoriously tricky cult classic Demon’s Souls – will hit European and U.S. shores later this year.

Developed by From Software, Dark Souls once again sees players slogging it through a dark and dreary fantasy realm packed full of compelling combat. This time though, the environments are seamlessly connected and far more expansive than those found in Demon's Souls.

Namco’s also dropped the first batch of screenshots for your viewing pleasure. Hit the link to have a gander at the whole lot.

    Can't wait. Add another game to my list on an already ridiculous year for gaming.

    Not trying to be a smart a** but it's pretty obvious that the game is going to be dumbed down for the masses.

    3 is right - if it's coming out on the 360 it's doubtful it'll be the same kind of experience as DS.

     @Maikel

    Every single one of your posts is so hostile. Can people not have opinions that differ from yours? Yes, this game will probably not be as large as Demon's Souls because it is being brought to both platforms, this much is true. But, really, do you have to call it a "Gay-Box" and attack anyone who doesn't agree whole-heartedly with you?

    Did a 360 touch you when you were younger? Did it hurt mommy one night? It's okay to be angry at it but the healing can only start when you learn to let go.

    Well for those complaining Demon's Souls was too "hard"... Dark Souls is reportedly going to be harder. Hah.

     This game should be fun.  Damn the first game was hard, but I kept coming back to it like a moth to a flame!  Tight controls, utterly bleak, oppressive world, huge bosses - so friggin' awesome.  Hope the next one is similar with perhaps a more clear explanation of weapon upgrades and such.
