As of April 1, 2011, Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) will no longer be handling the online services operations of the PlayStation Network.
That’s according to an email currently doing the rounds in the inboxes of PSN users, which confirms that a new division of SCEA will be taking over management duties of the online service.
As such, all account information and wallet funds will be transferred to Sony Network Entertainment America (SNEA), as per your acceptance of the new terms of service agreement. Should you decline however, your PSN account will be permanently cancelled and all remaining wallet funds will be refunded.
Here’s a snippet of the email below (via Kotaku).
“An important message to you from the PlayStation(R)Network team at Sony Computer Entertainment America LLC.
On April 1, 2011, Sony Computer Entertainment America LLC (“SCEA”) will transfer its online services operations, including your wallet and the funds in it, to Sony Network Entertainment America Inc. (“SNEA”). The first time you sign in to your Sony Online Services account on or after April 1, you will be asked to enter into a new Terms of Service and User Agreement with SNEA. If you do not wish to enter into a contract with SNEA, you may decline the terms of service and we will close your account(s) and return your funds.
You can preview the new Terms of Service and User Agreement with SNEA at: http://www.qriocity.com/psnlegal/us/privacy.html.”

Not thrilled with the new or old agreement, but it is what it is.
There should be a opt out of all tracking or recordkeeping option while still maintanining full PSN privledges. I don't want to buy anything from 1st or 3rd party vendors. I just want to play games.
I understand the why, but I have my limits when these agreeement are go general and leave consumers powerless.

not a joke this is for real and it gets worse.
if you are under 18 years of age you have to have your parents credit card on your account not to purchase items but for parental permission for the child to be online on the new playstation network so watch as millions of players leave playstation and head for xbox
