SOE attack: "make good" plan includes free DCUO Batman mask

Sony Online Entertainment is offering the DC Universe Online community a free Batman inspired mask as part of its “make good” plan after an apparent attack on the system and the nearly two weeks without service to the PlayStation Network. All impacted players will receive both the Batman mask (pictured below) along with 30 days subscription credit plus one day for each day the service is unavailable.
SOE asked for patience as it returns service. “Please bear with us as the complexities of the subscription server dictate how and when this will be available along with pertinent details,” according to a press statement today. Look for more information later this week.
Earlier today we learned that DC Universe Online will undergo a major server change aimed at reducing queue times. This update includes merging the U.S. and European PC and PlayStation 3 servers into four super-servers—one for each platform in each region.
We also recently learned that SOE fell victim to an apparent attack similar to what brought down the PSN. Some 12,700 credit card numbers may have been stolen and 24.6 million accounts may have been compromised as part of the attack on SOE. The company has since said far fewer credit card numbers may have been stolen. Stay tuned for more details.

I've got an idea! How about getting the networks back up so we can play Sony! I've been going through my off line stuff and now want to kick some butt in the Big Apricot or over in Gotham.

That is sooo gonna make me get the game!!!! NOT!! I can't believe Sony is using this mess to promote PSN+, Qriocity and DC universe online. I'm erasing my account as soon as the PSN is backonline, PSN cards for me from now on. Even with all this headache, i rather deal with it than settle for a lame 360.

Did all of you ever think that just maybe, just maybe, PSN is going to be back up at a point defined by what work they *have to finish*, and that won't change, but they are offering the Batman masks anyways? I guarantee you that the dang masks don't change a d@mn thing in the timing for when PSN comes back online. O.o (really?) So it's better than nothing! Sony is very aware that getting PSN back up, online is the #1 priority on everyone of our minds. (Yes, really) Or would you rather have, dolls?

I cannot believe just how long it has taken Sony, a company of solid customer dedication, to rectify this psn server issue. It appears as if Sony has a team of monkeys working around the clock to fix the problem...but they\'re doing it at a snail\'s pace and frankly, it\'s pissin me the f*@# off!!! I want to play DC Universe sooo bad!! My fiancee wants to play super bad as well....ugh!! But, far as the batman mask goes, its alrite...I guess, but umm I would rather settle for more new cities/sceneries and adventures....oh yea and an additional free month.

Something tells me that the issue with the SOE servers being hacked is causing yet another re-think at Sony about security. Its clear that they thought their SOE server set up was safe, otherwise why take the risk with customers data? Oh yeah, sorry, my bad its Sony they didn't care. I'm now of the opinion that I'll be surprised if the PSN is back up and running by Friday. I hope it is, but I'm prepared for the worst. As for the 'make good' offering... well what do you expect? Personally I view most of the 'make good' offerings as an insult, but some people want free stuff, I just want my details safe!!! The longer this goes on the more people I think are starting to relise that Sony dropped the ball big time on this, the more people read the more people turn. This really could be the death of the Playstation brand,

How rn\'t you happy with that... It\'s not just the mask we\'re getting... we get 30 days free plus additional days for the time it\'s down... meaning the more days it\'s off the more days we get... or do u all have no lives and need to get into your little MMO world to feel like sumone?
