Sony hopes to have PSN fully restored by May 31

Sony has admitted that PlayStation Network might not be fully restored until May 31.
Speaking during a phone interview with Bloomberg, spokesperson Shigenori Yoshida said the hardware manufacturer was still “uncertain” as to when the online service would be fully back up and running. However, the plan is to have everything restored by the end of the month.
The electronics giant previously planned to have PSN partially restored by the end of last week, though as of today, the service still remains offline.
"When we held the press conference in Japan last week, based on what we knew, we expected to have the services online within a week," explained Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) communications boss, Nick Caplin.
"We were unaware of the extent of the attack on Sony Online Entertainment servers, and we are taking this opportunity to conduct further testing of the incredibly complex system."

They haven't just admitted this, they've been saying it all along.
Online gaming will return first, and the store further down the line, with FULL service restored by the end of May.
Jesus, don't any of the gaming press read what they're told?

Im the one that has been saying its fine what sony are doing because they need the time to get it sorted. If its not online within a week and i had the cash i would seriously debate buying an xbox 360. i would say im a dedicated gamer and im very much dedicated to the ps3. I think people want clearer answers and to know actually when its going to be back not just another rough guess. or even tell us what exactly happened.. its only been 19 days which is not that long when u think of it but when im bored after a day working and training theres nothing better than playing a bit of cod, pes or fight night to relax online. i\'ll still be here and loyal to ps3 but i want to know in gettin recognised for being loyal.. Saw Games On Smash report this in to and all I can say is WOWWWWWWWA hahaha..oh well back to SOCOM 4 lol
But on a different note what do you guys over there that work for/at PSU feel about this matter?? Just wanted to see if we the viewers could get a different perspective other than our own here that post comments and such. -

sony yous are f ucking lyin c unts cant even be honest with the pple who pay good money 4 your products your takin us 4 a ride giving us false promises the more promises you make the more you get are hopes up and then break them i no atleast 20 people who have changed to xbox thats going to be 21 today coz im sick of your bs and by the 31 st of may you will lose lots more pple who say there loyal to sony sony isnt loyal to you

Thats cool...im still enjoying my old school PS2 and PSOne games very much. I can wait. Can't complain right? Its a free service and I give Sony props for working hard on it even though we are not paying for it. Thanks Sony for giving us customers your dedication. Keep it up! :)

@ 9 ~ the service is and inclusive service without dedicated servers.. our payment was sort of included in the purchase of the PS3, we dont pay for playing online because it isnt worth paying for! im a former XBOX nut, but converted to PS3 because all my mates had PS3... and from day1 ive done nothing but complain... gameplay for the XBOX live is sooooo much better than PS3 online, no CONSTANT lag, whereas PS3 has soo many little extras for example - ALWAYS being kicked from party rooms, UNCONTROLLABLE recoil in every gun (yet when i watch death cam there is very little if no recoil at all in opponents gun), the little things make the bigger picture unplayable!! b4 i sold my xbox i used to compare the difference between black ops gameplay on ps3 and xbox.. just to see if i wasnt being prejudice ... but i wasnt, the ps3 gameplay is a joke! REALLY wish id thoroughly checked it out b4 paying nearly £500 for a system that RIGHTFULLY IS NOT MINE!! and as for the none paying for it comment by no.9.. xbox for a yearly/monthly subscription for servers that are tip top with tip top gameplay, we choose to pay EXTRA for a PS3 without dedicated servers and shi-te online gaming, and you say we have no right to complain when they keep us in the dark concerning our personal details etc etc.... just because we dont pay monthly we have no say??? i dont f ucking think so pal (p.s what kind of f ucking weirdo pays hundreds for the newest games console but is HAPPY playing games from the first generation of PS franchise... LOSER with no morals is the answer !! peace out mutha fuc ker

@ 11: wow dude your standards are set too high buddy. i was just stating my opinion man on this whole psn outage. youre entitled to your opinion and so is everyone else. but to flame a guy you dont know by feeling tough and calling names...really? dont complain about playstation cause you think online is junk. remember...no one forced you to drop your xbox for the playstation. finally knew which one had better games? and "cause my mates had a PS3" story is a bad excuse. and for the record....i dont spend hundreds of dollars on newest games...at the most i got 3 ps3 games, 2 ps2 games, 4 psone games. i have a life that has 2 kids and a wife that come first...you make sure when you say LOSER you lookin in a mirror mutha fuc kah!

PS3 is guaranteed third place this generation. That Xbox Live will continue to dominate thanks to Live and Kinect. The next Xbox will come out ahead of the PS4 and keep Sony in third again. Hackers = 1 / Sony = 0
Two big games coming out Brink (that centers around online) and L.A. Noire which pre-order activation codes will be useless. Soccom is dead, Portal 2 and Mortal Combat missed a huge window. I'm willing to bet this drags on into June.

usually i dont care to comment on the things ppl have to say about this but come on really do u think any corporation would tell you the truth about things? what world are you ppl living in? they have been saying this all along the store wont be back until later this month. y would i pay to play online? oh wait i already am it's call my isp.

wow did i just read right sony have finally put a date up when we can get back online..or is this just more lies they are filling us with so thats like 2 and a have months now...how many people now since psn is down have went a got an xbox...because as of now went and got me an xbox...sony ur 2 slow and u took to long with all your lies quick enough to take our money and what do we get in return more lies...so no wonder its free to play online on psn,what more can i say sony your crap...and when i do delete my acount on psn and you ask why you dont need to ask you know why your crap......
